Device battery monitoring feature
For example; if a battery is acting differently and is starting to bloat, the cart administrator would receive an alert warning through GigaFox and could take action to go remove the bloated device from the cart. This would be especially good for teams that don’t look at their devices inside the cart on a regular or frequent basis.

We’re looking at building out a general alerts and monitoring system; this particular feature will become part of that. Specifically detecting “bloat” may be a little bit tricky because we haven’t found any consistently clear indicators as to when a battery starts to tip over the edge, but just being able to have the cart monitor various metrics more easily will still help.

We have actually built an application that uses the rest interface to monitor the charge rates for the phones in our cart. We also put in a Raspberry PI that monitors the internal temp inside the cart. Having a historical record of the temperature gave us some insight into the AC in the build being turned down at night causing the phones to overheat.
